Popular Pharma to enter Nigeria market

Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd signed an agreement recently to export formulations to Generic Global Ltd, Nigeria, according to a press release.

A high profile audit team from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Nigeria, who visited the plants of Popular, expressed its satisfaction at the medicines manufactured there.

Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Popular Infusions Ltd are expecting registration for eighteen specialised formulations by the next couple of months.

Osita Idemili, chairman of Generix Global Ltd, Nigeria, and Dr Mostafizur Rahman, managing director of Popular Pharmaceuticals Ltd, signed a business agreement and export order on behalf of their respective organisations.

Meanwhile, Popular brands are expected to be available in the Yemen pharma market from early 2009 as a Yemeni audit team has also liked these medicines..

Yemen Supreme Board of Drugs and Medical Appliances of the Ministry of Public Health, carried out an audit from October 20 to October 26, 2008.

Currently, the company exports to Kenya, Sri Lanka, Macau, Somalia and Afghanistan.
